CHARITABLE REPORTS
Lack of adequate nutritious foods when school is out may set up a cycle of poor performance for children in school and beyond. The Food4Kids program is designed to fill that nutrition gap and to ensure that children have access to the nutritious meals they need, even when schools are closed. The underlying goal of the program is to promote healthy eating habits and development by providing children with the nourishment required for adequate mental and physical health. During the school year, this program provides the food required to make healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks over weekends and school vacations. Over summer vacation, the program provides the nutritious food required to make 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 snacks for children every week. Any child in our service area is eligible for the program. We are energized by the positive impact this program can make in the lives of many East Bay children.
We are truly grateful for your belief in out work and for your committed partnership in our mission "to engage, educate and empower the East Bay in creating a hunger-free community". We rely on partners like you to make our programs possible. With great thanks, K. Griffith, Executive Director, East Bay Food Pantry.
