Success Stories
The San Miguel School

AFCC funded San Miguel's Physical Education Program and After-School / Summer Athletic Program.

We received a thank you letter from Jennifer Foster, Director of Development at San Miguel School and we would like to share it with you.

Your gift of $10,000 helped to strengthen our Physical Education and Athletic Programs in ways that have had an important impact in our work with urban boys from some of the poorest neighborhoods in Providence, RI. I thought it would be interesting to share a story of one particular San Miguel School graduate. Deon Anderson was a member of the first class of students to complete four years (grades 5 to 8) at San Miguel School. We have followed his journey closely, like many of our graduates, he has remained in touch. After overcoming a number of challenges as he moved through high school and college - Deon graduated last spring from the University of Connecticut and was a sixth round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys! Well Deon surprised us several weeks ago with a visit just before leaving for Cowboys training camp. He told us he wanted to visit because it was his experience at San Miguel School that gave him the foundation to bring him to where he is now.

We are able to proudly report to you how Andrade-Faxon Charities support has helped to positively impact lives over the past year - what is even more exciting is that we know, from stories like Deon's, that the impact can go on for years.

Please express our sincere graditude to Billy Andrade, Brad Faxon and the Directors oft the foundation for this generous support.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Foster
