On Tuesday, January 15th, Andrade-Faxon Charities for Children (AFCC) dispersed grant funds to children's charities located within Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. The grant awards answered application requests for therapy equipment purchases, camp participation, food supplies, educational instruction, dental visits, adoption services, children's wishes and more.
In the last year, Reach Out and Read Rhode Island ® has provided 55,000 developmentally-appropriate books to more than 30,000 Rhode Island children. The grant funds from Andrade-Faxon Charities for Children, combined with a 3:1 matching grant from Reading is Fundamental, allowed for the purchase of more than 7,000 of those books.
